    Description

    Item:
    Authentic WW1 England/Belgium Cloth
    Note:
On a trip I took to England, I bought many antiques/collectables to sell here in my Ebay Store.  I concentrated on items that were uniquely British and were not available here in the States.   Being the 100
    th
Year anniversary (at the time of trip) of WW1 for the British, everything WW1 related was very popular there.  This is one such item I brought back that I'm really impressed by because I'm positive it is one of a kind.
At the time of this listing, I have another Authentic WW1 Item listed as well.  In my store you'll find an American WW1 Linen Banner featuring a
    U.S. Navy Battleship
    .  Banner is titled "
    Freedom Of The Seas
" which was one of President Wilson's validations for entering the war.
Bluntly, it is so incredibly bad ass and although I doubt that it is "one of a kind" like the item in this listing, I am 110% positive it is extremely rare.
    Description:
    For sale is an
Authentic (Made between 1914-1919) Cloth Tapestry commemorating the Alliance between England and Belgium in World War 1.
At first I thought this item was a “
    silk
    pillow cover
” but there is no opening to slide in a pillow.  It is actually meant to be framed and displayed as a
    Commemorative Silk Cloth
.  This cloth piece features portraits of
King George V of England and King Albert of Belgium.
Both of whom died in the Early 1930’s.  This piece measures 20 ½” x 16 ½”.   I have no doubt this is a rare piece and could possibly be only one of a small handful here in the U.S.A.  I found this item in small town 3 hours outside of London called Tewkesbury.  I am sure my photos will best further describe this item.
    Condition:
On a scale of 1 – 10 (Ten being MINT/New in Package), I can confidently grade this item’s condition to be a
    solid 6.5.
As you can see in my photos, there are some condition issues.  But, it is far from “falling apart” or not being worthy of being framed/displayed.  You will notice just above King Albert’s head there are a series of small holes.
Actually, these “holes” do not go all the way through since this cloth is a couple layers thick.
    Those are “
    threadbare
” holes which penetrate just the first layer of cloth.  In fact, there are
    ZERO fully penetrating holes.
All of the stitching around the perimeter is very sound.  Yes, there is discoloring of the original off-white background.  Also, separating each square is red threading.  That threading is supposed to be loose and movable as it is.  It is not supposed to be all frayed as it is though.  Frankly, in my opinion this would look better simply without it since there is nice red solidly stitched embroidery between each square anyways.  My photos are an accurate depiction of this item’s
    TRUE
    Condition.
This item will be shipped folded as it was when I found it.  Ideally, it would be great for it to be eventually flattened for a nicer frame display, but that will have to happen after the shipment.
    Shipping:
90% of all items will be shipped in 48hrs or less (usually the next day actually) unless the item is paid for on a Saturday.  The Post Office is closed on Sunday so shipping will begin again on Monday.  No international shipping unless done through
    Ebay’s “Global Shipping Program”.
    Returns
    :
Returns are accepted if the item is not as described or something happens to the item during shipment.   Returns due to negligence on my part will have shipping refunded and return shipping paid for as well.  I think that is only fair.  Don’t you?
Thank you for looking at my listing.   If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
    PLEASE NOTE:
I do my best to provide you with the best values.  Customers normally pay only the actual shipping charges as determined by the shipping company (usually USPS).   Please E-mail specific questions prior to bidding.   If any problems arise, please give me the opportunity to fix it first before you leave negative feedback.   Returns are accepted ONLY if it is determined that the item is significantly different from what was described in the listing.  I am very proud of my long history of customer satisfaction.  Please read my feedback.  Many of the items I sell are
    vintage,

questions and clarifications are encouraged and welcome.
