    Description

For sale a vintage WWI era cloth and paper calendar dated 1919. Great early wall hanging calendar that measures approx. 12 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches. Metal band strip along top with what appears to be the original handing metal loop. Nice colored stencilled on image of what looks like a British Bulldog along with the Union Flag - Flag of Great Britain along with wording; What We Have We Hold. Paper month pad staples to lower half of the calendar that starts in the month of June 1919 so is missing the first 5 months of the year. I am not 100% sure this pad was original to the calendar as back page that is glued to fabric is dated 1917. Reminents of heavy board attached to both bottom corners may suggest the original pad was attached to bottom and is missing or a replacement pad was added in the original spot but a year or two later that the original. Regardless this calendar would make an great show display piece and overall in good to very good condition with little paint loss, slightly faded but clear image.
